Hello and welcome! I’m going to be honest here and let you know that this is my FIRST BLOG EVER. It is way past due, so here I am. Today I want to talk about the purpose of this blog, so you have an idea what to expect going forward.
What this blog is not about. I’m probably not going to offer any unsolicited advice on child-rearing or opinion on politics. Quite frankly, if you are here, my guess is that you are looking for inspiration, bead therapy, and distraction. We all need it! I feel like anything you can do that makes you feel engaged, inspired and productive is good for the soul. Designing jewelry and teaching beading/jewelry making has been my zen for going on eighteen years now and I love to share.
What I am thinking this blog will offer is a space for creative ideas and inspiration. Some of these posts will include discussions/reviews of products. You will also have a chance to meet some artists and instructors. We will talk about design, color, techniques and trends. Successes and failures. Because with out failure, there can be no success. Trust me. Build and run a small business based on your passion, and you will see!
Short and sweet about me. I am the creator and owner/operator of this little store, The Bead Garden. We are a brick and mortar store located in the Philly suburbs (Delco proud!), celebrating our twelfth year in business. We sell products, we teach, we have fun. I think the reason we are still here is because we love what we do and we love our customers. They keep us in business. When I am not here, I am usually with my better half Steve the Human, soon-to-be college student/daughter Ally, my awesome son Matt, and Steve the Cat.
I look forward to future creative ramblings!
